To the best of my knowledge, Mark Hanney, the author of SkyGlobe, dropped out of the business MANY years ago and nobody's heard from him since. It was strange - one week he was active on such things as the CompuServe astronomy forum (this was in 'pre-Usenet' days!) and the next week he just vanished. Skyglobe Download FreeThanks very much for your useful and explicit advice. My working PC has Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, but for many years now I have used my favourite astro program (Skyglobe 3.6) on a very old Windows XP machine. Skyglobe is an astronomy program for MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows first developed in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and originally sold as Shareware but now available as closed-source freeware. It plots the positions of stars, Messier objects, planets, sun and moon. The computer runs Windows 7. Much more important then computer hardware is the software it runs. Data archiving and research For my own research I compiled a database of images, movies and texts that I feel are important for the PaleoSeti Theory. Over the years this database grew well over 100 Gigabytes in size and houses over 40000 items.
